In December 2024, while Kevin was visiting former colleagues in Houston, one of them asked to bring Heather to a breakfast meeting under the pretense of making a professional connection. Neither Heather nor Kevin was looking for a long-distance relationship, but Heather caught Kevin's attention. A little more than a week later, back in Los Angeles, Kevin asked Heather if she would be open to getting to know each other better. She agreed. After exchanging many text messages and essay-length emails during the next two weeks, their first video call lasted nearly five hours and set the tone for countless more hours-long conversations.

Thus began a long courtship marked by deep conversations and occasional weekend visits by Kevin to Houston. Despite the challenges of a long-term, long-distance relationship, Kevin and Heather continued to choose each other. When Heather began visiting Los Angeles, their relationship expanded to include Kevin's children, who quickly came to enjoy her presence in their lives and whom Heather quickly came to love.

As plans for a future together became more tangible, Heather moved temporarily to Los Angeles for eight weeks during the early summer of 2026. In August, Heather joyfully accepted Kevin's marriage proposal. The next month, she moved permanently to Los Angeles, where they look forward to building the next chapter of their life together.

Both Kevin and Heather have found in each other God's blessings in ways they didn't know they needed. They look forward to establishing a new family built on a shared faith and desire to build a warm and loving home together.
